My teaching philosophy emphasises the importance of students having an active role in their learning. Music-making offers us something of a very special value, as it can be a very individual learning experience, with many avenues to be explored. I encourage collaboration and chamber music-making from early stages of learning, as I believe that those are key factors to an enjoyable and enriching musical experience. Improvisation and composition are also key elements of the instrumental lessons that I deliver as I believe that through creating we are able to understand musical concepts better.
I offer online and in person violin and viola lessons and chamber music coaching. Students are also given numerous opportunities to perform and take part in group and ensemble classes throughout the year, more recently also including an array of solo and group remote projects.
I am experienced in preparing students for Trinity College, London College and ABRSM Graded Exams.
